🛡️ 1. Our Privacy Philosophy
SafePrompt is built on a "Privacy-by-Design" principle. We believe your data belongs to you. Our extension is a local tool that acts as a filter, not a data collection agency.
💾 2. Information We Handle (Local Only)
- Token Mappings: To allow you to see your original data after the AI responds, SafePrompt stores temporary "mappings" (e.g.,
[NAME_1] = John Doe) in your browser's Session Vault. - Data Persistence: This information is stored locally on your device and is automatically cleared when you close your browser session. It is never transmitted to us.
🚫 3. What We Do NOT Collect
- No Prompt/Response Storage: We do not see, read, or store the content of your prompts or the AI's responses.
- No Remote Transmission: No data entered into the extension is ever sent to SafePrompt servers. Your text moves directly from your browser to the AI provider (e.g., OpenAI) only after the masking process is complete.
- No Personal Profiling: We do not track your identity, browsing history, or AI usage patterns.
🔧 4. Optional Support Diagnostics
If you encounter a bug, you may manually choose to send a diagnostic report to help us improve.
- What it includes: Metadata only (e.g., version number, browser type, and basic error codes).
- What it excludes: Never includes your actual prompts or sensitive PII.
🤝 5. Third-Party AI Services
SafePrompt functions as a layer on top of third-party AI services. Please note that while we mask your data, the final (masked) prompt you send is subject to the privacy policies of the AI provider you are using (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.).
Your real data is never sent to any AI provider — only the anonymised version is transmitted.
📊 6. This Website (Analytics)
This section covers only this website, not the SafePrompt extension. The extension does not use analytics.
- Google Analytics, only with your consent: If you click "Accept" in the cookie banner, the website loads Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, where visitors come from, and clicks on buttons such as "Add to Chrome". It sets first-party cookies (
_ga,_ga_*). If you click "Decline" or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. - Changing your choice: Click "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the home page at any time.
- Google's processing: Data collected by Google Analytics is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.
